The UK government has world-leading ambitions to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The UK public is concerned about climate change, and there is widespread support for its net zero ambitions. But people currently don’t see what action they need to take to help the UK get there.

Reaching net zero will mean changes for everyone in our daily lives, and public engagement is the way to positively involve everyone in the journey.

This report calls for the UK government to put in place a comprehensive public engagement strategy and outline vital components for such a strategy to succeed.
