‘Boomerang’ shop launches in Wolverhampton’s East Park Ward

Today sees the launch of a new community launch in East Park Ward, Wolverhampton.

The not-for-profit shop, established by East Park Management Group (EPMG) will allow local residents to sell, donate or buy clothing at affordable prices, with the proceeds in turn benefiting the community.

The opening of the shop was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration at which the Mayor and Mayoress of Wolverhampton were present, along with volunteers and leading members of civil society from across the city.

The shop will also provide formal and practical work wear to help people seeking employment, while EPMG will be working with City of Wolverhampton College to provide work placements for students and offering volunteering opportunties to others wishing to gain retail experience.

The Barrow Cadbury Trust has supported East Park Management Group in launching this new enterprise, through funds made available under the Wolverhampton Gift.
