The Foundry social justice hub wins RIBA’s 2015 London Building of the Year award

Social justice centre The Foundry has been chosen for RIBA’s 2015 Building of the Year award ahead of other prestigious and award-winning buildings such as the National Theatre, Foyles and Friends House.

The £5.2 million Foundry project, was described by Ellis Woodman, The Telegraph’s architecture critic and director of the Architecture Foundation, Ellis Woodman, as “a building full of optimism”.  It was picked from 38 short-listed schemes in the RIBA London Regional Awards.   Judges praised the 1,100m² refurbishment of the former shoe polish factory in Vauxhall for being a “refreshing reminder of what an architect can bring to a project regardless of budget”.
