Barrow Cadbury Trust is delighted to welcome three new trustees to our Board. Radhika Bynon, Kimberly Garande and Faiza Khan will bring new and different perspectives, as well as a huge range of experiences working on social justice issues.
Radhika currently works as Portfolio Manager for Impact on Urban Health, where she leads partnerships working on ambitious and innovative approaches towards health equity. Her work has a particular focus on racial justice and she works closely with Black and other minoritised community organisations. Previously, she led the Communities Team at The Young Foundation, supporting community-led change in neighbourhoods in across the UK. She also led Reimagining Rent, a social enterprise accelerator designed to improve affordability, quality and security in the private rented sector. For many years she was a trustee at Community Links in Newham. She has served as a board member of Global Fund for Women, and as chair of Global Fund for Women UK. She is chair of Asha Trust (Sri Lanka) and serves is on the boards of the Magpie Project (supporting women and children in temporary accommodation) and Kineara (supporting people at risk of eviction and homelessness).
Kimberly is currently the Youth Voice Advisor at The Westminster Foundation and a member of the Involving Young People Collective (IYPC), consultants to the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. Her experience stems from community organising, influencing and campaigning over four years in the migration sector, where she led the Let Us Learn project at We Belong. She has held posts on Mind’s Lived Experience Advisory Board, the Ubele Initiative’s Emerging Young Leaders Collective (YELC) and sits on the Sheila McKechnie Foundation board as Vice-Chair. She is also an associate at Hudl Youth Development Agency and currently leads youth facilitation for BBC Children in Need’s Million & Me programme. By joining Barrow Cadbury Trust, she hopes her commitment to sustainable social action and her diverse experiences will contribute to transformative systemic change in governance.
Last but not least,Faiza is currently Executive Director, Corporate Affairs & Foundation at City & Guilds. Previously, she was Director, Engagement & Insight for The National Lottery Community Fund, and prior to that Director, Policy and Communications for Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
Faiza has been an advocate for many of the organisations and causes that the Trust supports and has previously chaired pan-funder groups to advance collaboration and excellence in grantmaking.
She is passionate about achieving social change and has worked across charities, communities and government agencies at both local and national level to support better outcomes for those experiencing disadvantage. She has served as a Non-Executive Director and advisor to many cause-driven organisations, including as a Trustee for End Child Poverty. In 2014, Faiza received an MBE for services to young people, following her long-term commitment to supporting positive change for children and young people.
