Evidence review: diverting young adults away from the cycle of crisis and crime
Too many young people come into the criminal justice system because of multiple unmet needs. Diverting them into support and treatment can help them to grow out of a cycle of crisis and crime and realise their full potential.
Police forces usually hit a major barrier when they decide to set up schemes for young adults: they have very little evidence on ‘what works’ for supporting young adults who commit often repeat low-level crime due to unmet multiple needs.
