Not settled yet? Understanding the EU Settlement Scheme using the available data
EU citizens already living in the UK were required to apply to the UK Home Office’s EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) in order to retain their residence rights after Brexit. The government invested significant efforts into creating a programme that is inclusive and easy to use. However, as with any bureaucratic exercise of this scale, there were challenges for some groups of people who needed to apply.
This report examines the data available at the time of publication for understanding the EU Settlement Scheme, for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens and their family members living in the UK to secure their post-Brexit residence rights.
