Head of Policy, Fair by Design

Maria joined Fair By Design in 2023. She is an experienced policy and programmes management professional having started her career in the Department for Business and also having worked in the private and charity sectors on issues such as consumer policy, energy policy and social justice and human rights.

Maria joins Fair by Design from the human rights in childbirth charity Birthrights, where she was Programmes Director. She also chaired her local Maternity Voices Partnership for four years. Maria is passionate about ensuring people with lived experience are involved from the outset in designing the outcomes that work for them.
