The Barrow Cadbury Trust is among the investors in Ethex, a new online not-for-profit stockbroker which offers individuals the opportunity to invest in social businesses.
 
The Trust also made a grant to support development of the trading platform, which gives investors the opportunity to buy and sell a stake in companies which offer mission-related as well as financial returns.
 
The site aims to make social investment accessible to ordinary citizens, who can make a positive choice to put their capital behind companies which advance social ends.
