Trustee changes at Barrow Cadbury Trust

Barrow Cadbury Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Esther McConnell as a trustee.   Esther studied Global Migration at UCL with a focus on community responses to migration and change. Professionally, Esther has a background in charity communications and currently works in internal communications for Quakers in Britain.

Esther has taken up the space vacated by Gordon Mitchell who has stepped down from the BCT board after seven years of service. Gordon, who joined the board in 2009 was one of the two first ever non-family trustees. Coming from a local authority background, having been Chief Executive of several, Gordon quickly made a contribution to the Trust’s approach to cross-sectoral working and strategic change. At a more operational level he volunteered to be the Lead Trustee for Risk, an important but not always scintillating task.

Chair of Trustees, Helen Cadbury saaid “With his lifelong commitment to equalities and social justice, we especially thank Gordon for his challenge and his support on the development of the Trust’s economic justice work and our new 5-year strategic framework.‎”
